A buddy of mine at work is selling a used Sig Pro 2340 .40 cal. I've never really been a fan of the Sig Pros, but it seems like a decent price. It's in pretty good shape, and comes with night sights, 3 10rd mags, box, manual, and extra backstrap. What would be a fair price for one? I don't really have much need for it, but if it is in fact a good deal I'll probably pick it up. Also, would there be any reason to steer clear of one of these?   I posted in the Sig forum also, but wasn't getting many views.  Thanks

CPO 2340's are less than $420, so if he wants any more than $400 for it, I'd pass.

He's asking $350 for it.   I guess it's a fair price, but not neccessarily a smokin' deal

New SP2022's go for around 575.00+, while used SP's seem to be around the 450.00 mark.

Depending on the condition. 350.00 really isn't that bad. For 300.00 or 325.00, I'd say buy it.

These are great guns. I bought a SP2022 over a P229 and haven't regretted it. The SP is also the most popular Sig model in LE/military service. The US Army recently adopted the 9mm SP2022, along with the Ruger P95DC, to supplement the Beretta M9.

The rail is funky on the older SP's but you can get 1913 adapters for aound 30.00.
Haggle him down to 325.00 or less and buy it. You will love it...

You can try to find an LEO who's department is trading theirs in, my brother will have the option of buying them for $230 when they trade them in later this year.
