Just a couple to gander at.  Both issued in WWI, one an 1914 Erfurt and one a 1917 DWM.  Sights graduated out to 800 meters.  Time of flight to 800 meters might be a while, lol.  They are a hoot to shoot out to 400 yds or so. They also were issued with snail drum mags and other items.
Rust blued with fire blued and strawed small parts, they are beautiful and quite different than the Black Widow Luger I posted yesterday that is all dark salt blued with dark grips and mag bottom.  The Artillery Lugers come with wood bottom magazines (the none snail drum type)

I really have almost no interest in Lugers.  That one would, however, find a place in my collection.

Bob, just like our military can choose different weapon systems, so did the German Army, Navy and Airforce. The Navy was actually the first branch to adopt the Luger in 1904, then the Army in 1908.

It might be noted that the Artillery and Navy stocks are different in dimensions.  The Artillery Luger has an rear sight graduated for use to 800 meters with a 200 mm (8"+-) length barrel.  The rear sight on an Artillery Luger is located just in front of the chamber. The Navy Luger has a two position rear sight located at the very rear of the back toggle link, actually having a longer sight radius than the Artillery Luger.  The Navy Luger has a 150 mm (6"+-) length barrel.
