So, some of you may remember my thread a while back about the shock cord tourniquet holder I set up. Well, after hunting for my tourniquet on the range for 10 minutes the other day, I figured it was time for a different solution. With all this talk about tourniquet retention in the plate carrier thread, I figured the following would be relevant.

This is what I designed an put together this weekend:

So, it's basically a tri-fold system held together with hook and loop that allows the tourniquet to be accessed a few different ways.

It can be inserted and removed (sts) through the top without tearing the pouch open:

With a pull on the loop, it fully opens:

There is also an additional flap that can be used as a lid to further protect the tourniquet, but does not impede the rapid open function:

And of course, it's modular:

Excellent!

As for me, my broke ass is still using rubber bands....

Nice clean job.

I'd prefer a pull tab versus the loop.

Old School training makes me adverse to loops on my gear.

Yeah, ok...so how much?  I'd take at least 2.

Well done. If I didn't have a BFG Tourniquet Now!, I'd be all over something like that.

Send me a pm with a price. If rigging hate my now set up, tired of it snagging on stuff.

Really cool. Will it work with a SOFT/W? I also agree with Covertness' suggestion of a red tab versus the loop.

Thanks for the feedback, guys.

Good idea with the tab instead of the loop. Not only would it alleviate any snagging issues, it would actually be easier to build (that loop was the most difficult part) and it would use less material.

Other info moved to EE HERE

I'm not sure, but due to the way it closes, it should. I have a SOFT-T in the mail right now, so I'll let you know when I get it.

Design updates:

Pull tab instead of loop

Added a loop inside for use with a break away rubber band

For those asking about the SOFT-T

I like the loop a lot. What size malice clips work best with these?

I'm using 5" tac-ties with mine, so I'm guessing large Malice clips will do the trick.

I'd like to see a SOFT-T model that completely encloses the TQ, is low profile, and belt mountable.

Long Malice clips are just the right length for 5 loops. You could probably belt mount it with the short ones, though.

Looks good and pretty KISS. Would maybe want to see the pull tab red for a civilian version, but I can see the logic in using a subdued colour as well.

Looks like everyone that ordered from me has received their pouches, or will in the next day or two.

Opening this up for feedback/reviews/suggestions from those individuals. And, of course, pictures of the pouches on your gear

I received the 5 black ones pictured above for my platoon at work(Police).  They are VERY well made and stitched with good quality velcro that doesn't come apart at a strong look like some.  My guys have been carrying TQs in the car for some time but I'm very glad they have them close at hand now.  The custom changes I asked for to fit our gunbelts were done to the letter of my request and fit like the maker had a sample of our belts to work with.

Fantastic workmanship.  I'll be shocked if I'm not ordering 50 more once all the Platoon Sergeants see these!
