"Battle Rifle" is usually defined as full size cartridge.

Nice.

If I have to carry my .308 into battle, I am going to need to start working out more.  She's a big bitch.

yep, I'm pretty sure battle rifle means full size rifle cartridge which the .223/5.56 defiantly aren't.....

Well. it didn't take long for the "a battle rifle should fire a full size cartridge" gang to come in and piss all over a perfectly good thread.  At least we know who's in charge, though.

The OP did not mean battle rifle in the classic sense as demonstrated by the fact that his "battle rifle" is an AR.  I'm thinking it's probably up to them to decide what the theme of the thread is and not the posters that want to argue about the definition of battle rifle.  I have no dog in this fight as my "battle rifles" are chambered in 45-70 and 9.3 x 62.  I don't even own anything in 5.56 or 7.62 anymore.

Just post your pictures and move on.

Blued Steel and Wood Grain for the win!

Springfield M1 Garand CMP rifle.

And my Norinco 1911. It's a shame I couldnt afford a Colt, but the quality of the Norinco is outstanding (Chinenglish on the slide aside) and the best band for the buck ($400)

Thanks.  Really have no idea about today's market value.  Gunbroker might give you some kind of clue (the auctions that are actually getting bids that is).

But, but...Wikipedia says a battle rifle can't be bolt action!

A Mosin certainly is a battle rifle.  Hell, they're still being used.

Yeah, did not get a lot of sleep the previous night. I tend to be bitchy when that happens.

Battle rifles are suppose to be semi/full automatic weapons if I remember correctly.

Nothing on GB with bids. One 645 sitting with an opening bid at $825 that's not near as nice as yours. Ouch
