I just came.

I think I remember him talking about doing this awhile back on ST.

Wow.  I didn't think it would be 6 suppressors in one.  I pictured one in front of the firing barrel.  This makes 6x more sense!

That's a lot of heat to have to dissipate.  Short bursts only I'd suspect.

thats cool, the bad guys will only hear the Helo, not the Minigun firing from it

Holy cow!  Is that one can with 6 baffle chambers or 6 seperate cans?

Hate to pay $75,000 for the mini then $1200 in tax stamps...

It should only be one stamp, since the whole assembly will have one serial number on it.

I'll wager $10 it is still pretty damn loud.

MAC tried this back in the 60's.  There is just too much heat for it to really work.  Its a work of art however.

Yep, Werbell made one in '68 and sold it to GE Armament Engineering, IIRC.

Mine was under 75k.  You gotta look around, you know?

I would think the cooling fins would work better if they weren't symmetrical across all 6 barrels and/or around their circumference.  Take advantage of the fact the whole thing is spinning- create vanes that will suck air into the center...

Maybe it could be cooled with liquid nitrogen. Then you could have not only a mini gun, but a fog machine too!

It would probably blow apart after the first round...

DeGroat has one of his mini-guns for sale right now on his web site for $65,000.  Last year a guy in Georgia took possession of one from DeGroat at the anual suppressor shoot.  He paid $65,000 for his.

If you can afford $65k for a single gun, you can afford your SOT!

If it does what it does for every other gun, it should cut flash drastically and might reduce recoil... depending on whether it creates some rotational vector force or whatever you guys were talking about.

Ugh... Not THAT conversation again.

Yep that Minigun recoil is somthing I will never forget, my thumbs still hurt 2  years later from the last 4400 round can I shot.......

I know its neat and everything, but it has little to no real world practical use.  I also know that folks like DG and I who have real world practical knowledge of the maintenance and employment of the M134 have no standing in the world that is ARFCOM.
