I recently purchased a  D-Technik vz. 61 skorpion with the intent of SBRing it at some point in the future. While looking for spare parts, I found a mostly complete parts kits with intact stocks. If I were to purchase this before getting my stamp would there be any issue possessing the stock with pistol (even though there is no attachment point) like there would be with an ar rifle lower and <16in upper even if they were not attached?

Additionally, if possession of the two items together is not an issue, if the stock was stored clipped into the upper (like it would be on a folded SBR) would there be an issue even if the stock had no capability of being folded out to be used as one? I ask because from the pictures I've seen a portion of the stock protrudes below the barrel and I wasn't sure if that could be construed as a forward grip on a pistol.

thanks

Constructive Possession is very real and the situation you describe is very gray. I certainly would not attach the stock to the pistol by any means, very stupid thing to do.

Best course of action is to give the stock to a friend until you get your Form 1 approved.

That's what I figured but I really needed to hear it from someone else before, in my boredom, I rationalized stupid  .  The wait begins....

With no way to attach the stock short of welding it or screwing on a mount (that you don't possess) I wouldn't really worry about it.

The Skorp is a fun little gun.  I don't shoot mine much.

Can I ask who did the work to attach your mounting bracket and stock?

I am F1'ing a Skorpion and don't know who to go to for that.

I had a local smith do it.  It's a simple drill and tap to install the bracket and the stock is removable.

I drilled and tapped the receiver myself. Very easy to do yourself. I purchased the bracket from Waffenworx and the stock from Checkpoint (sp?).
