Bought it in 2006 before I went in the Navy in early 2007. Been on 2.5 deployments, used a lot, sharpened maybe 3 times.

These are a few of my favorite working knives...

I built the damascus one, the steel is 264 layer 1095HC & 15N20 with filework down the entire butt and spine, an upholstery leather sheath, music wire pins and Dymondwood scales.

The other two are a Condor Bushlore and Bushcraft, both are 1075 with walnut scales and leather sheaths. I removed the factory finishes and added simple yellow mustard striped patinas, and recessed and notched the spines just forward of the handles for thumb traction. The Bushcraft also has heavily scalloped wood that was refinished with red mahogany Minwax.

All three hold a great edge and are extremely comfortable to use. The Condors are very easy to sharpen... the damascus blade not so much.

I picked up three gorgeous 6-1/8" damascus blanks to build this week... Two will be gifts, the third one I plan to carry so it will get rosewood scales to match the rosewood grips on my Sig P238. I'm excited to see how these turn out.

And here's my bush knives and brush gun posing together. The hatchet is a sturdy $10 Harbor Freight find with a carbon steel head and walnut handle that I reshaped slightly and then refinished.

Custom survival kit. She's been the best kit I've ever had. Custom knife and sheath with wood handled ferro rod. It's a horizontal sheath that mounts at 2 o'clock.

I've been working for a buddy's construction company and my ZT has been seeing some very heavy use.

-Nail removal.
-Copper wire cutter.
-Screwdriver.
-Staple puller.
-Tile pry bar.
-Thin set chipper/cutter.
-Shingle cutter.
-Drywall cutter.
-Doorframe remover.
-Wood notcher.
-Tile scorer.
-Floor scraper (drywall mud and thinset).
-Pencil sharpener.
-Fingernail cleaner.

I've literally been beating the shit out of this knife and only have to sharpen it every couple days. The stonewash finish hides scratches incredibly well unless you look close at it.

It's in the dishwasher now.

Used my Fallen Oak Forge "Spartan" as a machete today. Cleaned it up, noticed a log and couldn't resist.

Still shaves hair off my arm even after hundreds of cuts and quite a few chops. Ben's grinds in combo with his differential heat treating is a wicked, wicked combo.

New to posting pics, thought I'd try....

Is that as good as this pic can be viewed?

[My Cousin Vinny] Could we get any further away?![/My cousin Vinny]

Knuckles drag..... Still learning:

This is a bowie my father and I made.  To say it's one of my favorites misses the mark.

It's made by basic stock removal from an old timber mill round blade I purchased from an LGS a half dozen years ago for about $50. (Still have a lot of this blade left)  The guard is brass flat from the recycling center. The drop is sharpened, as it should be on any Bowie IMO.  The pitting and patina was left on the blade to keep its antiqued appearance. The lighting sucks as the patina is a milk chocolate brown which contrasts handsomely with the mirror grind applied to the edge.

The handles were made from reclaimed walnut award plaques my uncle discarded after buying out a business and the name on the plaques was no longer in existence.  The scales are held in place by plasma cutting reliefs through the tang at odd angles then Brownell's Accra-Glass was applied with the handles wrapped in elastic banding until cured.  I didn't want to put too much time into this build as it is not a show piece, it's to be used.  Dad made the sheath for me. (Pictured in the tiny group shot)

Those who know more about making knives, please give me your honest opinion of the material and workmanship.  I may try another sometime and pointers would be appreciated.
