I've seen several pictures of the "sterile" Banana knives that SOG special ops units used in Vietnam.  Has anyone ever seen one in person?  Is there anyone who has one that could/would take some measurements for me.  I plan on making some re-productions sometime this spring or summer.  Thanks in advance.

I think it is literally the Southeast Asian standard work knife, which looks a lot like this thing. It is "sterile", of course, because it is a knife of local manufacture, not traceable back to the US government. Plausable deniability, and all that.

I know, this looks like crap, but my Vietnamese and Cambodian friends who grew up there in the '60's and '70's, assure me this is the type of thing. Real simple kife, principly an agricultural tool, that works perfectly well as a knife or shortsword in a fight. You wouldn't pick one up on a table of knives of various manufacture, because it really isn't anything special.
