32 S&W uses .312 jacketed bullets.
Lead bullets should be .314. Which manual are you looking at?

I haven't personally loaded any 32 S&W Long, but have been looking at components to make some for my mom (she's got a Colt revolver....unsure of model).
It is safe to use the 0.312" diameter bullets. I'm not sure which bullet is preferred for this cartridge, or which shoots better, but I will get both to try out if I can. Mike |

Wow. I also shoot cast bullets in mine, a 100 gr SWC and 2.2 grs of W-231 was accurate in my S&W. I use the same charge with the WC in the link above. The SWC in the above link, 3.7 grs Unique shot very well. I picked up some .312 65 gr JHP's at the funshow today, those will be loaded in my 32 H&R mag ammo.

Yeah... I have 1,000 of the SWC in the basement bought years ago as well. Times change huh?

I reload this caliber - but have never purchased bullets. I cast them using a Lee 6-gang mould, and load them right out of the mould - no sizing, just tumble lube.
Not sure what size they are as I have never measured them! Should be .312 to .314. My local bullet caster sells them sized to .313. My choice of powder is Bullseye. No leading in the barrel of my early 1900s' Colt Police Positive. Ray |

I was looking in the Lee, Speer and Hornady. If I had read it closer I would have caught that. Thanks for the info.
