If you search for the Tavor you will likely find one or two of my videos, but there have been a lot more interest since the group buy and launch of IWI US.

I'm pretty excited to go to Shot Show next week and get some hands on time with the US Tavor and put it through its paces.

I'm hoping to have a few different videos from the range and shot floor to show off this excellent firearm, along with my personal review of the Israeli Tavor up this week.

But until then: I've been shooting my Tavor for the past two years, and have had some great times with it. These are all my videos, in order of newest to oldest.

I really enjoy your videos, but for now they are but a tease until the Copes pre-order is in my hands. Thanks for the videos and Tavor info. It made my decision to order one that much easier.

Hopefully after Shot Show there will be some more firm information about when and where to expect these guys!

Are you limited to 5 round magazines up there?

In Canada, magazine capacities are controlled, but only sort of.

Magazines are either prohibited, or uncontrolled. A semi-auto rifle magazine is prohibited if: "It will hold more than 5 rounds of ammunition for the caliber it was manufactuered." and a semi-automatic handgun magazine is prohibited if is "capable of holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition for the caliber it was manufactured."

So we import AR15 pistols with LAR 10 round magazines and use "pistol magazines" in our rifles. That is fine.

We also take 40S&W handgun magazines and put 13 rounds of 9mm into them. Also fine.

Most recently, we take .50 Beowulf magazines and put 16 or so rounds of .223 in them. Hence:

Also, because I believe all threads deserve pictures: this is my Tavor with its 18.5" barrel installed next to my AR15 with its 16" barrel.

The biggest thing with the Tavor is that its magwell is slightly different from an AR.

Personally, I can confirm that the Tavor magwell is compatible with maglink couplers and surefire 60 or 100 round quad-stack mags.

I have never used a beta-C or similar drum mag in my Tavor, and have heard unconfirmed reports that they were successful.

BUT, just because you can fit a beta-C onto a Tavor doesn't mean its a good idea. You'd definitely be adjusting your grip, possibly in awkward ways.

Yep, a drum magazine with the AUG is awkward. You have to contort your arm around the drum.

Tavor won't be all that dissimilar in my view.

If you can find those surefire mags, that would be better than a drum mag.

yeah there aren't that many bullpup LMGs in the world! Although don't the Brits use a version of the L85 with a low hanging snail mag?

Nope. Just checked and the LSW bullpup uses a 30rd mag according to Defense UK. They do have some very nice versions of the Minimi that seems to serve them as a proper LMG.
