I was surfing the internet, and I seen this, looks interesting...

http://www.uzitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?62876-Glock-Uzi-Conversion

"I made the first prototype several years ago. It works well. I have been working on them intermittenly. I have 20 of the lower housings assembled, but still need to make and fit the mag catches, then the grip panels. Wanted to have them this year, but the new 22 conv came along. I will get them done within the next year.

They will only be for 9mm, 357SIG or 40S&W (same mag size). I looked into making them in 45 but it would be a very large magwell, much more like the greasegun magwell and those work well, why re-invent the wheel"

I was thinking how nice the UZI conversion would be.

I wouldn't mind having a Mac 10 with glock mags.

What is the point?
Uzi mags are one of the best subgun mags ever...........and cheaper than Glock mags.

But why have two different type of mags?
wouldn't just one type be better?

I agree with you... as long as we're talking about shooting 9mm.

I've been having a difficult time getting a mag that will work well with my .40 barrel on the Uzi. The ProMag .45 mags work to an extent, as do the IMI .41 AE mags.

But because of the width of the magwell, the way a .40 stacks in the mag is less than ideal. So when you put too many rounds in, the stack will start to bind up and push outward, rather than downward. I had thought this was just an issue with the Promag's thinner sheet metal body, but the IMI .41 mags do the same thing. Those are marked for 20 rounds, but the body will swell to the point I can't insert it in the magwell if I load over 17 or 18.

This should give you an idea of what I'm talking about regarding the stack in the mag:

I tried an Uzi lower with a MAC magwell, but it did not work well with my gun. I might try a different one some time.

But the option to use extended Glock .40 mags would be nice. Glock mags are easy to find, designed for the round, and consistent, mag-to-mag.

'Cause it's easier to make a MAC or Uzi take Glock mags than it is to make a Glock take MAC or Uzi mags when the MAC & Uzi are your carbine and the Glock is your side arm ?

How about using the mags your gun was designed for?

I was speaking hypothetically from the perspective of PCC/ pistol, single ammo/single mag compatibility.

I am perfectly happy with the cheap and plentiful UZI mags, and M3 GG mags for my 45acp conversion.

Answer in search of a problem?

I can still buy reliable UZI mags for ~$15 (MUCH cheaper and more available than Glock mags).

I wanted to get a Mac/clone type pistol, but after hearing how bad the accuracy is and then actually shooting one, I can't justify wasting ammo..
