I did a bad thing I know.  I didn't have an opportunity to even shoot my Zenith until after the stamp came in and I had outfitted her all evil like.  I finally got to the range this week and after shooting hundreds of rounds of .45 and 9mm with conventional pistols I pulled out my new toy to give it a go.  The red dot optic is a perfect co-witness with the sights.  I never even adjusted it.  Just moved the target out the max distance and dumped 4 mags as quick as I could get the red dot back on target.  120rds with no failures of any kind and definite dead bad guy accuracy.  I have a new favorite gun.  I love this thing.  I should have gone the SBR route years ago.

Yep like the others noted a Kley-Zion HK MP5 Ultra Low Profile Aimpoint Mount from Botach Tactical and a Bushnell Trophy TRS25 red dot.  Inexpensive and works great.

Thanks!

What parts did you decide to use for 922r?  I'm still trying to wade through that decision.

Didn't 922R go hide in a closet when Trump was chosen by freedom loving AMERICANS?

Nice  gun OP

One can hope it does.  Only one of the mags I took to the range was American made but surprisingly it worked.  I didn't figure it would because it was much more difficult to load it then the MKE or German mags.  Earl

Agreed, they are fun as hell. I have close to 3k through my Z-5P and 2k through my Z-5RS and they have been great. Only problem is that when I have them at the range everyone wants to shoot them, which of course I try to oblige :)

Here's mine

You guys are killing me with these Zenith SBR pics!  I just picked up a Z5p a couple weeks ago and I can't wait to SBR it but this 41p crap has me at a stand still.  Nonetheless I offer pics anyway

Hey guys, can I ask what you were shooting. I took mine out and only had blazer left, which I know is lower grain but I was having a jam every 2 rounds or so

I am mostly using Speer 124 grain. If suppressed I used Speer 147 grain. Mine run like a top with both.

I shoot a mixture of 115, 124, and 147. Mostly Blazer Brass.

What locking piece are you using? Oil the shit out of everything, of course.

In my range session I had both 115gr Winchester White Box and 115gr Herters ball (brass cased, boxer primed).

I've only had trouble with one kind of ammo, PPU hollow points. The soft flat tips get hung on the feed ramp, or lack thereof. It's eaten close to 5000 rounds of everything else I've thrown at it without issue.

I took it out and oiled it up but everything was as it came from zenith. Was shooting mostly blazer and it would get stuck into the charging handle mechanism inside on ejection. Used all the mags with it and same issues only got 4 rounds once but mostly every one or two rounds but the problem is when it gets stuck it stops you from being able to use the charging handle and you have to disloge the casing before you can even operate the handle again.

I thought Zenith only sold pistols? How'd the SBR models come about, does Zenith sell SBRs or do you buy a full size and SBR it later?

You just SBR it and add a stock.

Individuals buy the pistol then form 1 it and add a stock.  Very simple to add a stock as it just uses a couple push pins.

Ah ok, I didnt realize you could SBR a pistol. Well, that explains that!

What overall lengths are people listing on the Form 1 for the z5p with choate folder and z5rs with a2 collapsible?  Thanks!

Best thing to do is look at HK's product pages and look at the technical data section. It gives the length there in mm, then convert to inches.

http://www.heckler-koch.com/en/products/military/submachine-guns/mp5/mp5/overview.html

For my Z-5P I used 23.5"

Those look so good! I'm having a really hard time trying to decide which one to get, the P or RS. I should get both but I want to get just one first and then get the other if I like it. I've not had a MP5 variant before.
