I'm cross posting this here since there hasn't been a response from P_W in the thread in the tactical gear forum. This will affect the total numbers some as I, and probably a few other tank icon holding members, legally cannot send a copy of a military ID.

For Army at least, the new enterprise email system formats it so if you're .mil it's in there before the @ sign, and if you're a contractor it'll be .civ before the @ sign. Regardless....P_W you may want to push to update your policy dated 13JAN2011 as it's in direct violation of Title 18, US Code Part I, Chapter 33, Section 701 which is punishable by fines and or imprisonment for up to 6 months. This isn't a recent change nor are we making this stuff up, http://www.army.mil/article/28452/photocopying-military-cac-ids-a-violation-of-federal-law/, and that's dated 07OCT2009 which pre-dates SKD's policy by a little over a year. In short if you want verification of active military service to purchase armor you'll have to accept some other form of certifying credentials. |

View Quote while I have said I'm in, and want to get these plates so badly, I have been debating on how to verify my active status with you guys. As the above points out, sending a copy of our cac isnt exactly allowed. I feel as verification from a .mil email should be fine. Whatever you guys decide, just please keep it within the legal bounds of what us active guys can legally do. I dont need COMMs coming down and locking out my account because I'm wrongfully sending PII(Personally identifiable information). |

As a active FD Officer/EMS I would like to get 2 if any are left. Does FD I.D. work or do I need a letter? A few more of the FD guys are trying to find funds for a Active Shooter/SHTF rig as well. And my Team expired last week, I will be back soon. I have been off for rotator cuff surgery and did not pay up this year.

If you IM me directly, I’ll provide you with an alternate means to verify your active duty status, as I’ve done in the past for others who have asked. Anyone uncomfortable with any part of our LE/Mil purchase policy can always opt to send us the civilian paperwork requirements. Please refrain from further discussions regarding our policy on this thread, and contact me directly. Only active duty military members will receive alternate options for verification, so if you are not active duty military please do not IM me about your particular ID/employment situation- I will not reply. Thank you- p_w |

5 days left and we still need 26 more commitments!
If you're on the fence, now is the time to pull the trigger. If you've got friends who want in, make sure they're ARFCOM members and that they're on this thread REMEMBER, ONLY THOSE COMMITTED ON THIS THREAD WILL BE ALLOWED TO ORDER THIS DEAL. IF THIS GOES LIVE, AND WE HAVE ANY PLATES LEFT OVER, THEY GO ON SKDTAC.COM AT A MUCH HIGHER PRICE. NO STRAGGLERS OR LATE-COMERS WILL BE ALLOWED IN. |

It was not tested/rated for 5.56, which is generally a harder threat to stop than 7.62 when it comes to personal armor. Side plates, like helmets, do not have official NIJ ratings. Any mention of threat levels are given by manufacturers to say they will stop similar threats, but due to the size (and in the case of the helmets, shape), you can't test them the same way you can regular plates with regards to back face deformation and edge shots. |
