Of course some will say why - just buy preban, etc. In any case it gives people potentially one way to get around the ban other than spending the money on a preban. ComGraf's Pump Action Rifle is a conversion of the AR-15 platform which avoids the provisions of the CT Assault Weapons Ban by changing the rifle to a manually operated (not semi-automatic) system. Prior to listing it as a standard product on Gunbroker.com, along with our other offerings, we're planning a 10-unit build. To move forward we need 10 buyers willing to put down a $100 non-refundable deposit against a $350 selling price. (Future product is planned to retail at $399 including custom modification services.) Our pump action conversion kit consists of seven parts and a variety of screws . These parts include:
1.Modified barrel nut
2.Modified bolt carrier key
3.Push Rod
4.Hand grip
5.Full-length Picatinny guide rail
6.Rear guide rail support
7.Forward guide rail support/gas block

Because some customization may be required, the kit is delivered as follows:
-- You will send us your complete upper assembly, including the bolt carrier group.
-- We will modify the upper receiver to accommodate the pusher rod (drill a larger hole through the front) and assemble and test the modified upper. As part of this fitting, we will do whatever customization of the Push Rod and the Hand Grip needed to work with your barrel diameter and length. (The Hand Grip is a 3D printed plastic component that will be sized in length to fit.)
-- With return of this modified upper, we will send you a 2-piece hardened front pivot pin and a small package of 2-part epoxy. On receipt, you will assemble the upper and lower together, using the supplied pivot pin assembled with epoxy on the threads to prevent its disassembly. This arguably joins the upper and lower assemblies together in a permanent manner so concerns about the lower being repurposed to use with a standard upper (making it a banned AR again) should be overcome. To help make this argument stronger, we will keep the gas tube, the original gas block, the original bolt carrier key, and the standard barrel nut.
