Merry Christmas to you Tony and the rest of our Euro squad.

I'm glad its over here already to be quite honest because my dad was taken into hospital on Christmas eve (last stages of cancer) but we all hoped he'd be home for Christmas.

The only good part is that it is a brain tumor and he's pain free. Tanks for the consideration buddy.

Sorry to hear that Tony, that is very young. It will be a big loss and my father is older (75) but we will cope and he  will be remembered fondly by everybody.

Arfcom is in luck as I am actually a specialist in EU law concerning the internal market

Problem is that the EU likes to do other things besides purely ensuring the free movement of goods, services, people  and capital.

Even the free movement articles are further hampered by idiotic paranoia's of national governments.

Swedes hate free movement of alcohol and Jet ski's for some reason. Germans are paranoid of anything medical  (every government has some paranoia).

This has the effect that national governments start lobbying to have certain interests regulated like the UK under smiling Tony Blair with the Firearms directive.

My thesis was how national governments like to  blame the free movement of goods  for social problems caused by their own public policy failures.

On the Greek and topic is was clear to me from day one that it was just a massive con operation but people who work in my field are surprisingly easily gullible (in a buying gold dust from a gypsy sort of way). The theory was at the time that you had to trust national government data and its simply not good form to call other government officials scumbag con artists. But then again nobody ever bother to ask my opinion.

An other major problem in the EU is something called 'gold plating', this happens when local bureaucrats make up extra rules and say that they are necessary to comply with some EU directive (sometimes done to stop budget cuts or give more power to said bureaucrat). The EU has stated that they would make it a top priority to stop this practice but when the Dutch police did it and I complained about it concerning firearms marking rules not a single fuck was given while it when it was a Obvious case of said 'Gold Plating'.

Yeah but we might just be slightly better prepared than most of the top I've seen .

I do have to say I try to avoid all things EU that are not related to the type of cases I  handle . So I in fact know next to nothing about the Euro and the related systems.

As far as the common market goes I do think its of great benefit to us all because it greatly streamlines things. Typically the EU likes to streamline such things by way of what are called minimum harmonisation directives and that's were the problems start because national bureaucrats start sticking their nose in and with stupid Quality/Safety/Environmental etc.

The problem also is that as far as I can tell the EU does not put as much effort in to free market problems as they used to, witch is their reason of existence in the first place. Instead they just like to waste money on project I don't really need and yet I still cant buy a car in Germany without paying 45% Luxury tax (this comes on top of 21% VAT BTW).*

Further complaints I have are that the quality of chicks coming from eastern Europe seems to be going downhill quick

I'm also very happy with the Gypsy beggars that stand in front of my local supermarket, in the beginning the local government here a the brilliant plan to secretly pay them to go away of course a soon as word got out the stream became a torrent and we seem to be stuck with the scumbag leaches . I'm no Nazi but if you knew how they they try and pull conn tricks all the fucking time and they even do it to people that try and help them (not me BTW) it would really piss you off.

*Is used to be called 'Luxury Tax' but that was not allowed anymore by the EU so they abolished it and called a registration fee (at the same % as the luxury tax of course), the registration fee also fell foul of the EU and now is called a CO2 surcharge and because its for the environment (witch its not) the EU has no problem with it.

To be perfectly honest almost the entire EP 'should be first against the wall when the revolution comes'

Did you know the EP voted to ban 'war toys' in the past (i.e. toy soldiers etc), they are really nanny state scumbags of the highest order. The only good thing is that these types of retarded votes are not taken seriously.

Toys encouraging and teaching children to kill and hurt other people is a terrible commercial product made by thoughtless and stupid people....
Yeah well fuck you to I bought  my son a crossbow this holiday (children  cant posses airguns here even under direct adult supervision).

As for the Falklands the Argentinean claim makes fuck all sense under international law. The good part however is that the Falkland Islands don't actually fall under EU law and unlike GB can quit easily tell the EU to pound sand. The Islander themselves however are considered 'Citizens of the Union' but that really means nothing. Believe it or not I actually would not mind living on the Falklands
