The heifer's feed consumption went way up, so we started checking a little closer at night. My middle boy went with the flir and an 870 full of cheap 00, and sure enough, he found this guy. He said when he hit the light the hog faced him. That wasn't a good move for porky.
His cutters are 3", and the tape says he weighs 274#. That might be a little heavy, but he's definitely over 250. This is the biggest boar we've killed in a long while.
I've hunted hogs with dogs, shot them at long range, shot big groups at close range with an AR, M14, and lever gun, ran over them with trucks, tractors, 4 wheelers, shredders and discs, but shotgunning them is the most fun IMO.
