Would something like this work? Stick it in front of a fixed powered optic to make it 1x
Imagine a G33 flip to side magnifier, but instead, it's in front of your fixed power optic facing backwards |

Quoted: If you had an 4x de-magnifier in front a 4x magnified optic, wouldn't it make it 1x? View Quote Wait a minute what you're asking for is a essentially an Elcan Specter DR. From what I understand it's got a 1x and a 4x prism in it. |

Quoted: So why not start with a 1x optic, and add a magnitizer. I mean magnifier. View Quote ![]() But seriously though, if you already had an acog and like the reticle, it seems like reversing a flip to side magnifier in front of it could possibly work at making it better for close stuff |

If you think you need a 1x ACOG then you don’t understand how to actually use an ACOG.

Your idea is retarded. I love it.
Try putting 3x scopes back to back. Now you have me wondering. |

Why do people fight it? Just get an LPVO and then you have a 1X and a magnifier all built into one convenient unit and all you do is flip the throw lever. They come with illuminated reticles too.

Quoted: Not only that, it's a 4x optic on a 10.5 SBR. It's not meant to be a serious gun... it's for fun. I do have a bit of kentucky windage going on with the RMR, I'll admit. View Quote |

Quoted: I mean you say that but there's special ops guys that out Elcans on MK18s all the time. It's not like 4x is less useful with an effective range of 300 yards. View Quote Yeah, but their MK18s are flat top/railed, not A1 uppers ![]() This started out as an XM-ish clone that kind of got away from me. I can and do put the ACOG on a flat top SBR though. I just store it on the A1. |

View Quote Damn. Happened 8 years ago in Germany. Wonder what became of the woman? I thought it was a Monty Python sketch at first. |

Well, you could, but it would give you a tiny aiming point, shitty field of view, light loss, and need to be spaced into the eyebox.
A lot easier to just use two eyes one would think. |
