Hops are wonderful but people have gone full retard on them in the last few years. I find malt and yeast characteristics more interesting than hops. I have another brown ale kit that I'll make in a couple of weeks, then an imperial stout and a Belgian farmhouse ale. Those last two should be ready around Christmas.
