Everytime a Mustang crashes at Mustang week, an angel gets its wings. Those crashes are from Mustang week in Myrtle Beach. About 20K Mustangs gathered last week and probably 1/2 did a burnout down that strip. Which is why people gather. Every year there is a highlight reel. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a297/aw4g63/thumb_1376520690DAVE2012_zpsf544a224.jpg View Quote Well those guys are going to get it shut down. |

As someone who owns an LX Notchback with a tired drivetrain, I wholeheartedly approve of new Mustang owners wrapping their shit around trees and such.

Couldn't happen to a group of more inconsiderate drivers. I was going down the interstate and there was a herd of them going in my direction, several hundred. I needed to us an upcoming road side rest relief station but those assholes had clogged the entire stop, requiring me to jump the curb and cut over the median to continue on my way. The butt heads were video taping the entire event.
Fuck you mustang club.

Old ish video that they seem to have added too. That exit has some rough grooves, and definately some people who didn't know how to get out of the throttle and into the brake hard enough. I've felt the car slip a couple degrees more than I should have at the track with enough time to look down and see 60mph. Straightened it out and ran a bad 1/4 but a fast mph, these guys didn't know when to cut bait.

It's like the group gives up the common road rules up to not wanting to act like stereotypical mustang (insert other muscle car) group in there. We clogged up all three lanes several times and if it were me commuting I would have given the finger to the whole lot of them. |

If my tires are beginning to break loose the clutch pedal is right there if i cannot pedal out of it. I usually try to drive such that there is nothing to upset the balance of the car much less simply do something stupid. On fun back roads I leave a margin for error. The people that nearly got run over, jesus.. Some real stupidity in that video clip. A cruise or meet is a great place for LE to hang out for low hanging fruit. Dont want to draw attention much less wreck my car. Break it I am fine with, wreck it I am not. I am looking for 350+ rwhp when my NA 331 goes in my 95. Next year I hope for heads/cam/blower for north of 450-500rwhp on the 05. /Edited to add New 2015 Mustang will have a line lock feature standard on performance options or possibly even base GT. Let the LAWL begin... |

I'd feel bad for them for the damage, but doing that in busy traffic is "exactly" like sweeping everyone at the range with your finger on the trigger.

Problem with the Mustang is it has a lot of power and on the cheap side. So a lot of drivers get them that have no clue how to handle them and are still used to their econobox 4 cylinder front wheel drive car. Drop the clutch on 420+ HP and over 380ftlb torque, with RWD, and it is super easy to lose control of. View Quote Mustangs just recently got that much power |

Quoted: I try to keep my traction control on...but then again I don't drive like a jackass. View Quote I drove a friends orange Boss 302 at a TrackDaze event at VIR. I had been in my racecar to scrub a new set of tires (Miata), and it took me a lap or two to adjust to the inputs. Honestly, the Miata is telepathic. It does what I want, when I want, how I want. Because racecar. Once I figured out the quirks of the 302, like the shifter, I laid down a few hot laps just to show him what the car would do. Weight distribution was better after he collected his jaw from the passenger footwell. What it would do were things I was amazed at for a stock car. Enough so, that even today, Id buy a 302 or settle for a GT just so I could listen to that GLORIOUS exhaust note. |
