Does anybody sell anything similar to those cox-powered planes? I'm guessing they are too dangerous to our current generations?
Bastards! What has happened to our country?

Everything is RC, almost. And electric
I am glad all the modern electric motors are out there. Nitro engines were a big hassle for me, and most needed a lot of room to fly
Now I can fly in the small(ish) field behind me, it’s bigger than a football field.
But if you’re looking for control line stuff, look up Brodak. They are located and make stuff in a little town called Carmichaels, Pa
https://www.brodak.com/They have a big hobby shop in town. All the RC and CL models they make, plus some other lines. And some foam too. Radios, engines, covering, everything you need to build. Also some plastic models, but not the newer high end stuff like RFM, Takom, Meng, etc
DVDs too, I guess they don’t have fiber optic cable down there.
And there are still lots of guys building scale free flight rubber powered models. Some of those guys are real artists/craftsmen. Beautiful models and they fly incredible. Not like any I managed to finish and fly.
