Man admits to sex with minor under polygraph while trying to become a cop
http://www.meadvilletribune.com/news/local_news/police-candidate-facing-sex-crime-charges/article_3e1bbb32-a320-11e4-a19e-bf2688dacae8.html Joseph Adam White, 29, of Hartstown has been charged by Pennsylvania State Police at Meadville with four counts of unlawful contact with a minor and 10 counts of corruption of minors. White had made application to become a potential state police cadet, according to authorities. On Jan. 15, White was at the state police barracks in Vernon Township for a pre-polygraph test examination when he "made statements that he had consensual sexual intercourse and other inappropriate sexual contact with the victim when she was a juvenile,” according to state police at Meadville. White said the incidents occurred in a field located off Fitch Road in South Shenango Township between May 15, 2011, and Sept. 1, 2011, according to state police. Police located and interviewed the victim, who is now 19, and she corroborated the incidents, according to state police. |

I'm sure all the advice he got leading up to that was "just be honest! They don't care about your past, they are just seeing if you are trustworthy!"

Do they always polygraph new cadets and give them strange questions?

On mine is was " Have you broken any other laws that you didnt list on the questionare" If you answer yes then you may be given the chance to explain.

I think it would be better to be thought evasive or deceptive than to admit to a child sex crime.
Too dumb to be a cop. |

If he can't fool the polygraph he'll never convince a jury!
Who needs him?! lol

You would, or perhaps wouldnt, be surprised to find out that many a chicken fucker or peanut butter on the balls types have been weeded out during backgrounds because of those questions. Work with many a background investigator who has encountered that shit during interviews or polygraphs. |

So what happened. Did the guy openly admit to it or did he fail that question on the polygraph and it raised red flags? I can't imagine them following up on a failed polygraph TBH.

He should have applied at a department that doesn't do a poly.

They never strapped him to the box. Although polygraphs are not an exact science they are really good at getting people to tell the truth. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Polygraphs are more of an idiot weed out tool and it seemed to serve its function well in this case. |

The weird questions are designed to throw you off. We get applicants with fucked up shit all the time. At least once every hiring cycle we call one into the station and arrest them for their outstanding warrants.

"Okay, you're doing great. I think you'll get the job. Just one last question, have you ever done anything in your life that would be considered the least bit unbecoming of a potential officer?"
"Wow, great to hear! I can't wait for my first day on the force! Since you guys have been so great to me in this interview, I'd be remiss not to tell you about that time I had sex with an underage girl." |

Exactly how old was the "minor" during this? Depending on DOB she could have been 16, which is the AOC in PA. |
