Everyone who owns a registered toy is going to support this?
Unlikely. At the same time, Glock switches everywhere these days... It does feel like you should be able to pay the $200 and add things to the registration list. |

Unfavorable defendant
This is exactly what they want. If anything happens, it won’t be good. |

Quoted: I’ve been saying this for years, the days of Hughes’ and the NFA ARE numbered…. View Quote I doubt it. I think people like you say that because they see the legal flaws in the government's arguments and understand the second amendment. What you're forgetting is that the courts are just not going to care and make whatever lame excuses they need to justify keeping the law the way it is. I don't think there will ever be unregulated machine guns. Removing the Hughes amendment is slightly more possible but I'd still say pretty unlikely. |

Law abiding in every other way, minority, has a job, not a shitbag. View Quote Maybe it’s because most sane people are not going to put themselves willingly in a position where they stand to lose nearly all their (remaining) freedoms on the slim chance they happen to sit before a perfect string of judges in the remote chance of changing nearly a decade of jurisprudence. Having spent years and vast sums of money myself to clear a felony I didn’t commit but was charged with, I can understand why there are nigh unto no volunteers, especially at the federal level. It ain’t rocket science. But we run with the case we have, not the ones we want. |

9th circus will deny it, then the SCROTUS will refuse to hear it. Then what?

Quoted: New MGs should be allowed to be added to the NFA. View Quote That's all it would take. A ruling that banning new registrations was unconstitutional. It's like not buying Microsoft at $2 a share, but pre-86, a select fire gun was about the same price as a semi-auto. It was the $200 tax that turned a $400 gun into a $600 gun. A pawn shop guy down here saw the future and bought a hundred sears and registered them right at the last minute and made some serious bank in the years since. |

Just like suppressors, the day they vote someone will get shot and the GOPers will vote their heart and vote no.

Quoted: Quoted: I've been saying this for years, the days of Hughes' and the NFA ARE numbered . It wont happen in the 9th circus. Probably won't happen with the current SCOTUS either. You would need a mixture of 9 Thomas' and alito's. |

Quoted: Fuck it I'll let them keep all my previous NFA money. If I can walk home with a SAW tomorrow View Quote I'm the same way, but with DIAS's. I'm not holding my breath though. The way the law works in these modern times, the case gets decided first, and then the rationale for the decision is manufacturer out of whole cloth and specious reasoning. |

The NFA isn't going anywhere. If for no other reason the money. $200 is nothing nowadays, most of us are and have paid it many times over playing their game. They've made millions off of us. I saw a video last night that there is 2.6millon registered suppressors in the US. That's 520mil in taxes. Granted, it's a government with a budget in the trillions. But, they aren't giving up that cash cow. They will speed the process so we are placated and keep taking our money.

Ideally no NFA, but opening the registry so I can drill that third hole is worth $200 to me.
I’m already on many lists. |
