So people still rip the piss out of this movie or has it finally got some of that Starship Troopers like cult vibe behind it?
I watch it at least a couple of times a year and love it, the action scenes are superb! |

I've always enjoyed it. It isn't perfect, but it's good for an occasional watch.

That was one of the most unexpectedly fun movies I’ve seen in a long while, and it portrayed the military in a good light.
I don’t own very many movies, but I do own Battle Los Angeles |

None of the Marines tried to fuck one of the aliens, literally 0/10 unrealistic.

A little overly dramatic at times but I still like.
I like battleship too. The scene where they prep the boat while AC/DCs playing rocks |

Fun movie. I didn’t even mind the Air Force lady tagging along with them because they didn’t try too hard to make her into a girl boss

I don't go out of my way to see it, but I will watch it if/when it is on and I'm looking for a movie.

Good old fashioned bug-eyed monster science fiction. If I'd change anything, it would be to get rid of the talking head on the TV. We don't need to know about why the BEM's are here, just that they are trying to kill everyone.
The back story on the captain was sort of lame and melodramatic, but necessary I guess. Just don't overthink it and enjoy the weapons fire and alien wasteage. |

I like it well enough but always found it odd that none of the Marines from the main guy to the younger guys gave a shit about the other NCOs they ran into.
'yes Staff Sergeant moving Staff Sergeant; hey army chick' |

Good fun sci-fi shoot'em up. I enjoy it and the name at least is based on a real event that happened with UFOs and anti-aircraft fire over Los Angeles in WWII.

Yeah it was fun, and I always watch it when I see it on.
The only cringe part to me was the dude telling his son to do whatever the marine said. I hope I know what the intent of that scene was, because the actors delivery was a little creepy. |

I've always liked it. I'll usually load it in the DVD player when I'm cleaning guns from a day at the range.

I like it. If we were really invaded it's kind of what I would expect. Not a Marine, but they act more like real military than some director's idea of military with "quirky" characters.
In the final battle I liked how the sgt ran his M4 dry and immediately transitioned to his sidearm. Yeah, it's got some personal drama, but it's not a documentary. |

I love the shit outta that movie.
I liked the concept that the aliens were barely a century at most ahead of us in tech development, so they were almost on parity with humans. Iirc it was supposed to be part of a trio of "Battle" movies set during the same events but the others never got made. Also one of the few movies of that type I've seen where a rando caught up in the situation with the military picks up a weapon and starts fighting |
