As someone who owns the latest Mac Pro (the cylinder), good for you. Macs are worthless unless you make a living with Mac exclusive software.

I consider myself to be fairly tech savvy. It's much different, but not difficult to pick up on. Most of it is fairly intuitive.

I've been with HTC since the first Droid Incredible and my last phone, HTC 10 was great.

I'm a Windows phone user and love it but the lack of apps has me looking at my next phones being either the next iPhone or an s8. I have an iPhone for work and it does fine.

I don't constantly fiddle with settings,I basically set it up the way I want it and use it.

For a user like me why should I get an s8?

Up to you really. So far, I really like the interface, and there seems to be an abundance of apps to choose from. Like you, I couldn't really get over the lack of apps on the Windows phone.

The only thing on that list that is objectively better is the VR and MAYBE the wireless charging. But I use Mophie juice packs so it's a wash.

I have owned a couple of android phones and liked them, but the forced software updates, and jacked up SD cards sent me back to apple.

<--- from Blackberry 8310 to multiple Apple to Blackberry again to Samsung S6 and now back to Apple with an SE.

Love my SE

The level of manipulation available in Android was nice indeed. There are some cool things about each OS. With Android you can be in text app and swipe on a name to make a phone call, swipe the other way to send a text.

Sadly I am in the same position. I have been a windows phone user for years but it is slowly dying.
I have been looking at the S8 and S8+. Reviews on the fingerprint scanner have not been great.
Opinions?

Lol, Samsung is absolutely garbage tier when it comes to android. I don't understand arfcoms idiotic love affair with their phones. The answer is ALWAYS iPhone or google phone(whichever flavor of the week that happens to be), always.

What's a jacked up SD card? I've never had trouble with the micro SD cards on any phone.

Any phone in which it's an option, which leaves the iPhone out.
