Say you could memory wipe one movie and watch it for the first time again. What would it be?

I’m going with Star Wars. Jaws is a close second.

I can do that now anytime I want.  I watch a movie and enjoy it (or not) and it is never stored in memory.  I can enjoy it the same a couple of years later.  Sad for those who cannot.
The Matrix -  I can name Neo and not any other character name.
John Wick - I can remember his name only because of the title.
Red Dawn - I can not name a single character.

I would probably choose The Departed for the same reason.

That was one of the very few movies that completely caught me by surprise with a plot twist. Normally I'm good at figuring out plots ahead of time (and often have to explain what's going on to everyone else... ), but the elevator scene with Leonardo Decaprio was one of the most surprising moments in movie history for me.

Right when I think I know what's going on...

three of them, 2001 a Space Odessy in70-millimetre Cinerama , Midway the original version, in a theater set up for the Sensurround, and Casablanca on the big screen, fresh print, correct light bulb in the projector. Honorable mention to Dr. Zhivago, and Lawrence of Arabia  in Super Panavision 70, and a fresh print of the Godfather, again with the proper projector and light.

I don't think I've ever seen a good presentation of the Sand Pebbles, I saw it at a budget theater on a small screen years after it's release. I'd have to agree.

for war movies I'd have to go with The Blue Max, saw it on the big screen when it first came out. Fantastic photography. (Besides, I think I was 12 or 13 when it came out and I kept praying for that damned towel Ursula was wearing to fall off) Another one for pure visceral feeling would have to be any of the race scenes in Grand Prix.

Why?  It is useless information.  It is not how my brain works.  I seem to store visual and audio clips.  A while ago I was asked about a part number at work.  I remembered writing it down on a note, brought up the image in my mind and read the numbers off of the image.  My daughter has told me she does the same thing.  How can you not do that?
