Astronomers at this point are pretty sure "planet 9", "planet X", etc does exist at this point, based off orbital anomalies. Essentially a huge planet, but with an eccentric orbit taking it waaaaay outside of most of our solar system. That said, we'd see it coming when it started getting back within our general solar neighborhood. Whole reason it's thought to be out of sight now is the orbit taking it far enough away that the sun doesn't illuminate it anymore. That doesn't work anymore once it's closer to us than like...Neptune. We'd definitely know more than a day out. More likely months to weeks at minimum.
