I like their bagels steak and egg sandwich. Splash a liberal amount of Frank's hot sauce and wash it down with a cold one.

I think a lot of businesses are simply making up outlandish prices to see what people will pay.

10-13 for combos going to lunch with a family of 5 at a fast food restaurant has become unaffordable for many

They wanted $2 here at least last week when I noticed. It should be 2 for $1.

I also noticed that they advertise a $1 $2 and $3 menu and have nothing at those prices.

I was out running errands and had a couple of appointments yesterday so for lunch I swung by a pizza place where they sell by the slice.  I ordered 2 slices, one cheese and one sausage, paid for them and drove away.
Cause I was preoccupied I didn't really pay attention to the price until I started to drive away, $9.49 for two slices of pizza
I can get cheaper pizza in NYC!

I purchased two McFlurries (McFurries) last week for $9.17 after tax - one size only - seems crazy. Made me stop and confirm with the voice in the box.  No more of that noise.

I've come to the conclusion McDonalds is only affordable when you use their app. $5.69 for Two quarter pounders.  (Thats actually a good deal and worth $2.85 each.) Quarter pounders and big macs are buy one get one free everyday on the app. Same with breakfast sandwiches, but one get one for $1.

The only way to get the "old affordable" pricing is through the app.

I just tried hashbrowns on the app, $2.29 for the first one, second is $1. I swear those used to be $1-1.50 each. 2x sausage egg and cheese Mcmuffins is $5.50. Too bad you have to order 2x people worth of food to get good pricing.

Their coffee is the worst. $3 buys about 5lbs of potatoes.

Where I worked about 90% of the employees bought fast food every day. Then complained they were always broke.  Add that up over a month. It's a lot of money.

This is a suspicion of mine.   Getting ahead of the inflation.

I haven’t seen any food related businesses lowering prices post covid.   Markets, fast food, nicer sit down restaurants.

I almost never eat there but you need to use their app if you want a reasonable price. Last time I used it the coupon was any breakfast sandwich for $2. Saved about $3 on my egg McMuffin.

Yeah, well, whatever breakfast combo it comes with is probably $10.

So box of those potato patties [10 to a box or maybe 8?] at the store is less than $5.
That is a product of overhead costs including salaries and don’t forget Obama’s contribution to this.

Though debatable as why try to do this, one good thing about McDonald's food is that you can leave a Big Mac in a closet for a year and it will still be edible.

Trader Joe's has frozen hashbrowns, in 8-packs.  Better than McDonalds, and I don't have to leave the house.

Everything there has become more expensive.  I remember for a long time during the covid/supply chain years hash brown patties were unobtainable at the grocery store. Hell there were times any French fries or tator tots were out of stock. I imagine McDonald's and others were paying a premium to keep their supply going.

I use to eat fast food in a pinch.  I almost shit when I got charged over 2$ for a damn hash brown.  I try to limit my fast food now to almost never.  Not worth the price for shit tier food.

Just an egg mcmuffin is $5. $11 for an egg mcmuffin, 2 hashbrowns and a small OJ here.

And you must wrap them in the napkin and put it back in the paper pouch for a few minutes to get the excess oil out…..

I can't figure this world out. Yesterday a store had batteries 2 dollars off with store card and the battery had a one dollar off coupon on the pack. I scanned the coupon along with my store card and when I got home and looked at the receipt it gave me the one dollar off the full normal price instead of the two dollar store card off or the combined two and one dollar coupon. I guess I could have bought a coffee with that missing dollar or two if it worked liked I had hoped?

One fresh out of the grease, crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle, with just the right amount of salt, is absolutely worth it.

This, I eat at home much better and much cheaper. I get that you are paying for the convenience, but $8.00 for a small shitty breakfast just ain't worth the cost of admission.

Frozen potato products are still crazy expensive. It's $5+ for a less than 2lb pack of fries at the grocery store, and quantity limits are often still posted.
