I’ve had mine for a week and have used it for almost all solo media consumption. I haven’t really delved into virtual games or anything like that.
But… having the thing and being able to immerse yourself outside of a metal tube is… something else. I’m not claustrophobic, but I could see this being a real game changer for someone who is. Video showing a couple tidbits that absolutely IN NO WAY does it justice. One note: the Vision uses foviated rendering. Meaning only the bit that your eyes are focused on is in the highest resolution. If it seems blurry, that’s because that portion of the image is not what my eyes are looking at. You’ll note portions becoming highlighted. I could turn on a “pointer” that would so, but it’s super distracting. So I leave it off  A very quick video of what the Apple Vision Pro is like aboard an airplane. @right_rudder I am freaking SOLD on this thing. I’ll be using it to actually work using my MB on an airplane, where I can finally carry a smaller laptop in preference of the large “screen” the Vision Pro provides. One note: I sincerely hope replacement speakers are being considered that use airpod max style over the ear. I know my max’s will connect over Bluetooth but they don’t fit well over the side. In-ear style AirPods don’t work well for me and I’m sure others feel the same. |

I'd love one day to have a heads up display to help me in my productive stages of the day.
I hate to think of all sorts of new data sources this secures. Same reason I wont wear a smart watch. I dont want these devices attached to me where I am unlikely to take them off for a significant portion of my day. I'll wait till we can get a digital bill of rights securing the users ownership rights over their personal data. If that doesnt happen I'm good with where I'm at right now. |

From everything I’ve seen of it so far, it looks cool as hell.
That said, I’m also not seeing a use case that makes a ton of sense. Like you said OP, solo media consumption, but that’s a tough sell at $3500 plus. And despite the latency apparently being quite good, use cases like driving or other on the go activities where AR could be super useful probably won’t be practical until future generations. So far every public use case I’ve seen I’d rather just use my phone or laptop. And I’m a tech nerd… |
