The ATF has ruled that all 50bmg UPPERS will now be considered firearms and as such MUST have their own Serial Number. Letters have been sent to ALL manufacturers of 50bmg uppers to explain this running. Yes, an upper now needs a serial number. The ruling leads one to believe that your 50 bmg firearm mayl have 2 serial numbers. Which one do you use during a transfer? This ruling will further confuse dealers and the public. Imagine.
My question is what do you do if you already own an upper that doesn't have a serial number? image hosting website |

WOW!
You should post this in GD. I know there is a lot of BS there, but there are also a lot more eyes. |

So if this is a new regulation, doesnt the ATF need to cancel 2 other regulations to implement it per Trump's EO's?
Hummmm...... |
|

ATF...needs to be abolished along with the acts that begot BATFE.

Didnt we already do this?
IIRC, it was just the Safety Harbor manufactured uppers, and not ALL 50 BMG uppers... I'm not okay with this, but I dont believe it affects all 50 cal uppers. |

The caliber determines if it's a firearm or upper? Good luck with that...

I have owned a safety harbor upper 50BMG. This is bullshit. You can bet it will spread to all uppers in the near future. Hope they appeal it!

So when do they send letters to Ares and AR57...

One of the original letters was to the manufacturer of BOHICA uppers. It was to them specifically and at the time, no other manufacturers got them.
I think it had more to do with the fact that their uppers weren't the best out there. The owner was a little out there also, made a lot of weird claims... He also pissed off a lot of his customers, ended up moving to AZ if I remember correctly and changed the name of the company. I've heard that if you call and ask about getting parts for your BOHICA upper, he'll hang up on you! As far as these new letters go, the upper is just a part and I don't see how they'll be able to make this work. If it does go through it could affect any company that manufactures uppers for AR's. |

If it is true then it will effect Thompson center contenders and encores, they are switch barrel guns and if bought as gandus can be made into rifle-shotgun and muzzle loader by just two scrres and pushing out by a pin.

How will this effect that weird California .50 BMG round, it is like .4999 BMG or something?

AR lowers aren't even de jure firearms. Fuck atf people are retarded. |
