Does anyone know if the barrel profiles changed from the legacy sr15 barrel in 16” through the mod 1 barrels in 14.5 ?
Reason I ask is I have a legacy upper with a 16” barrel. I would like Marvin Pitts to dimple the barrel but it just looks like such a thin profile and I am wondering if it’s the same profile as the factory dimpled kac barrels.

This barrel that I recently installed in my Christmas Cheer rifle, which came out of a legacy SR-15, was dimpled by Marvin Pitts prior to me purchasing the gun.  I want to say it happened in 2015.

Judging from other factory dimpled guns I have seen pictures of recently, the ones on mine are shallower.

The entire barrel is dimpled, and it yields a weight savings of about 2oz from standard 16" SR-15 legacy barrels.
