Quesiton is: to those with prescription glasses, does wearing them make a red dot clearer or not!?

Yes, but not as much as you'd like.
I have a rather modest prescription for correction, (Think like a magnifying lens, in and out to get focus), but my astigmatism (Multiple focal points because the cornea isn't completely spherical, so no matter how good the focus, there's still distortion) is one that can't ever be fully corrected by lenses. A very simple astigmatism might be, but most aren't. You'll always have some "bloom" with red dot's and glasses IMO.
It's definitely
better, but I still see a sea of rays and blooms when driving at night.
Turning the dot to it's lowest intensity on a red dot sight helps because the weaker the inbound light is, the weaker any of the secondary focal points you've got in your eye will be, until they disappear.
Shooting during bright daylight conditions helps, because your pupil contracts so your eye is looking through less of the astigmatism. Just like a wavy piece of glass, if you stare through a soda straw through little patch, the image might be clearer.
I ask the optometrist to futz with the astigmatism cylinder rotation whenever I get a checkup or new glasses, but it can't be eliminated. I've also tried toric contact lenses which are weighted so the heavy side keeps them oriented right as they float on your tears on the eyeball, but they didn't fully correct either.
I'm getting a LASIK pre-exam on Monday. 25 years of this bullshit is hopefully about to be behind me.
