What bullet and powder do you guys use for 100yd practice and short course matches?

I don't want to use all my 77SMK bullets for rergular practice.

I'm looking at the 53 gr HP match or the 52 gr HPBT Match and ball powder, either AA 2230 or 2460.

The upper will be a WOA 1/8 Service.

That choice will just fine @ 100,, if fact, to go to a cheaper bullet, you might try the Hornady 55 gr SP bullet.
I shoot the 55 @ 200 in the local HP matches and get fantastic scores.
You can find them for about 80 to 85 bucks per K, so it gives you some good trigger time and still shoots great.

That's what I'm thinking.

I don't need to use high dollar bullets to practice off hand. Around MOA or a little more should be fine.

Try the Hornady's,, I use a WOA barrel and shoot HM scores with them at 200. Plus, shooting them OH, because of the faster vel and the lower recoil, tend to be on call better.
The bullets won't hold you back at all.

I have been using the 55 gr Hornady fmj bulk packed bullets with a moderate charge of W748, and getting better than moa performance out of my RRA/Wilson barrel.  With them, my 100 yard reduced course scores are better than last year at this time.

I use 53 SMK's with 25.0 grains of IMR 4895.

Shoots well........

I ordered some 52s and 53 on a bulk deal to try.

Flat base bullets work better in my T/C 14" Contender, so if they don't work in the WOA upper I'll shoot them at Prarie Dogs.

52 gr. Sierra Matchkings with 25gr. of H335 is a great 100 yd load for me.

I recommend the Sierra 60 gr. HP. Your short range bullet choice doesn't have to say "match" on the box for exceptional accuracy.
Over the years I have pushed my 60's out of my Wilson's (1x9's and several 1x8's) with 24.8 gr. IMR or H-4895. I like Federal 205M or Rem. 7 1/2 primers.
Anyway, lots of luck in finding any components today at sane prices.

Those bullets seem to be back ordered everywhere right now, but man they shoot some tight groups from every rifle that I own.  I am saving the handful that I have left for a few unlucky coyotes next weekend.

I see the guys are shooting 60g or lighter at 100.

The light bullets work well in 1/9, but if you get a chanch in your 1/8,
try sierra 69 BT with 24.5 Varget and what ever HS works with your chamber.

The groups from my RR NM are sweet and seem to stabilize better than the 50ish g bullets.

have fun

Me thinks you misith the point. He is trying to get away from the high dollar bullets for short range practice.
