Anyone going this year?

I think I am going to get off my ass and go this year. My friend and I have never been to a big shoot so any tips would be great

I shoot production C class with a sig 226.

Thanks

It is in Parma, Idaho this year, so it is a little closer for you.  Make sure you chrono your load so you make minor is the only thing I can think of right now.

Don't pull the newbie/wannabe GM mistake and blade run at the power factor floor.  Load about 5-10 pf over the minimum.  It's probably less than .5 grains of powder difference.  Winchester factory ammo tends to be safe too.  At Area 2 this year there were WAY too many people close to making minor in the major power factor divisions and those in Production that were close to not making minor.

It's just not worth it.  Besides you want a gun with good quick return on target instead of a dusty bunny fart anyways.  Heck...my steel gun (along with most of the top dogs) is built to run around 135-150 PF.

Yeah I am glad it is close this year. 400 miles each way

I will have to get ahold of a chrono so we can make sure our loads are up to snuff. We are loading MG 124's over 4 grains of tite group

Area 1 is a big USPSA shoot. There are 8 areas in the US.

Sounds like fun. I guess they are doing the MGM three gun the weekend before at the same range

I already sent my registration in.  My advise is to not get DQ'd!

I would hate to go all that way and get DQ'ed

Right now I am trying to make sense of the rules regarding trigger mods for a production gun

I am on page 4 of the five page thread and I am still confused

In a nutshell, if you can see the mod from the outside or you defeat a safety, its a no-go.

What pistol you working on?

Sig 226

I was going to send it to Bruce Gray because he does a internal trigger stop but it sounds like they are deciding whether or not a set screw on the glock triggers is legal so I think I will wait it out and see where it all falls

On a side note I got my application filled out and will get it mailed off soon.
I am stoked

The match director also informed me that for the zipline side match they had a guy who was 350lbs ride it so my fat ass is in the clear

I cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went last year, had a blast except for the unusual extreme heat. I am planning on going this year, never been to Parma looking forward to it.

I'm shooting it...and working it this year.  Don't know which stage I'll be on...but hopefully will be finding that information out soon.  The match appears to be filling fast.  The prime slots (sat/sunday) are already filled.

Great shoot guys

The staff did a good job and I had a lot of fun. It is always humbling to shoot around top level guys.

Who had the white subie with a BFL

I think that was one of the tactical solutions guys in the white car.  There were several BFL at the match.

Did you shoot the guns tac sol brought out

It was a blast to shoot steel with the supressed pistols.

I did not shoot the steel with them as that was very loud.  The AR-15 22 suppressed conversions kit was very quite and it was fun chasing the sage rats around with it.
