If you cant your rifle clockwise, the bullet impact will be a bit to the right and a bit low. Think of it this way: When you hold the rifle straight up and down, the bullet trajectory goes above the line of sight and then falls back down to the center of the bull (except for ranges up to 100 yards). If you were to turn the rifle at 90 degrees, the bullet would still leave the barrel so that it is going in the direction of the front sight, but gravity is no longer pulling the bullet back toward the center of the bull, but it is pulling the bullet down. Hence the bullet impact will be to one side and low. At lesser angles, the effect is the same but not as much. |
| Thanks for the info. I do not think that is my problem after reading the posts. I went in the basement and tried aiming and found that if I was canting I cant to the right. My issue is on the PSF I get 100 with 5-8X. On PRF a good day 97 (which has been only once), 93-95 most other times. The lighting on the shooting line is not that great, it is covered. Now I'm thinking I'm not getting a good sight picture, between tring to line everything up and the time, I might be loosing the sight piture. |
