Hey guys,

I just wondered who, if anyone, is going to be open smallbore week. I thought that most of the manufacturers (RRA, Armalite etc.) closed to switch over to highpower during this week but someone I work with said differently.

Also, is fur, feather and fin outfitters (90% sure that's their name) out there?

Thanks in advance!

ETA: well, here it is. Post 223!

All mentioned should be there for high power weeks.

I don't know about smallbore weeks. Small bore guys don't really buy too much powder/primers from Fin, Feather and Fur and since RRA and Armalite are not vendors of smallbore gear, they may not be there. You should call them to see when they will be there rather than make a trip to Perry to find out they aren't there .

Mr. McGrath,

Do I just call the club house, or are there individual numbers for the venders' buildings? I haven't had to call one before!

Thanks so much!

I'm not Dave, but I am sure he meant call their home store as they know when they will be at Camp Perry and for how long.  This time of year whenever you order from Creedmoor, Champion's Choice, Champion Shooter's or Neil Johnson, they always have to check if the item is on hand at Camp Perry.

Airgun had me right. Call their home businesses.

As to Armcorp, I believe they sold the M1A business out to Fulton. They only handle surplus parts etc.

Here is some history. They had some real problems back in the early 90's with their smiths and poor quality receivers. I know, because I bought one of their $1100 train wrecks in "90. Headspace, glass bedding and the stock (Bishop) was too wide in it's forearm at the gas cylinder. Didn't think they would build out of spec but they did! Went to get my new rifle's trigger weighted at the CMP van, and that's when it was pointed out to me. Traveled to Perry just to find out I couldn't shoot the rifle. Armscorp was on hand at Commercial Row but could not help me. Ha, there were several others with Armscorp rifles too! They weren't very well liked that year and were buying rifles back faster than they sold them! Armscorp was doing business that they couldn't handle. At the time, Springfield Armory had no receivers because of import regulations. They got caught with their pants down by George Bush! The only other receiver manufacturer was Fed-Ord. They were at the bottom of the heap in quality. Smith had already been forced out of business by none other, "Armscorp"!

Any way, speaking from experience, lessons learned hard are lessons learned well! Beware of all manufacturer's no matter who they are, how long they have been in business or who recommended them! Remember competitors, it's your money. Keep'em honest by checking all of their work before and after the sale! If you can't get a resolve on a problem, report it here!

BTW, I haven't seen Jack Fries from Armscorp at Perry for at least three years. Anyone know if he is still with Armscorp/Cindy?

If you're talking about Cindy's husband,, they got a divorce and she got the business.

Didn't know they were married! Cindy and her family had the money to begin with and Jack just happened to come along at the right time. Oh well, so I am told but that's how stories get started. Could be some truth to them but maybe not.

The last I heard, Jack was dead or dying from cancer. Hope these stories are not true. I had my problems with him but they were resolved and he shook my hand afterwards.
