I was wondering if anyone knew where to get a target that falls when hit( like the military pop up ranges) but with out the fancy reset ( maunal)?
IVE LOOKED TO BUY THEM BEFORE..JUST GOOGLED STEEL TARGETS..COST WAY TOO MUCH.. IM LUCKY MY DAD IS A WELDER SO WE MAKE THEM IN HIS SHOP.. HE ALWAYS SAID MOST OF THE SHIT WE MAKE YOU COULD BUY IT CHEAPER.. IF WE HAD TO BUY HALF THE MATERIAL NEEDED INSTEAD OF USING SCRAP FROM HIS SHOP, THEN THE LABOR INVOLVED TO DO A GOOD JOB, YOU COULD JUST BUY THEM.
Buy a large post hinge from home depot. Drill a 6x6, or whatever size critical hit area you choose, piece of rubber (can be found at walmart/home depot, etc.) to a 2x4, cut to desired height. Insert into hinge. Position target (cardboard, paper over cardboard, etc) over rubber, alligning critical hit area on target with rubber. You can also make it 3D by putting a cardboard box over it. Pretty cheap, approximately $10-$20 depending on what materials you use. Hope this helps. Hint : Buy extra 2x4's and rubber, you will need to replace them after a while. Hope this helps.
I have been thinking of some thing simular to your suggestion. I'm planning a tactical shoot and move, I want two targets at 150yrds steel plates, 4 paper targets at ranging from 75-125, two falling targets at 25 and 50, one paper pistol 15 yards, one steel pistol 8in plate at 30yards.
