Anyone shoot the IDPA postal match?

I enjoyed it, did have a tiny bit of silly but nothing you wouldn't expect from IDPA

Over 1K have shot it so far!!

our club shot one in june, i haven't looked for my score yet

i didn't like that shoot on the move stage: put 2+ rounds in each of 3 targets while moving to cover but the cover is like 5ft away

Stage 1 with the box?
That was the one I felt was a little "weak"

You either pinball to engage the long target on the right or you only had a head shot from cover

Interesting concept

Yeah, some IDPA stages are funny that way. I like to say, "I can't run that slow!" to the RO.

i remember there being something odd about stage 1

our stage 4 (which should have been the same as yours i guess) had 6 targets, and a barrel in the middle, you could start on the right or left.  you had to shoot the three targets closest to you on the move, once you got to the barrel you couldn't make up any shots on the first three and you had to engage the other 3 targets from around the barrel

the occasional funky stage design aside, i really do enjoy getting out there

Has anybody seen/heard anything about the final scores for this?  I didn't shoot that great but, I was curious how I stacked up against everyone else.

I checked the IDPA website but couldn't find anything.

BTW I am one of the CO-MDs of the postal match. I designed the "Stumped" and "Tourists" stages and was the originator of last years match. I hope you had fun shooting the match. The stage design was a lot harder than you think and I too was not as happy with this years stages as I hoped. We wanted to put in as many IDPA skills as we could with out making it just standards. They had to be easy to duplicate, conform to all COF rules, fit in any range, be ok for all classes and divisions, young and old, have enough round count and difficulty to have some spread in the scores, and keep it interesting and fun. We tried to "ramp it up" a bit, but that was the wrong move. When the reports of the shoot through started to come in, and when me and my Co-MD Ken shot the "Alley" stage at a different club and it DID seem a little tighter than we remembered. As long as every one had the same stages to deal with, then it is fair, but I know that is no excuse for poor stage desgin, but we really did put a lot of thought into it. If we do it next year I think we will solicit stages from the clubs that will shoot and pick the best ones.

Eljay, thanks for the link to the scores and thanks for all the effort you put in.  The stages were actually not that bad but, we have to complain about something.

I sure don't want you to think  the design and effort you put forth  was not appreciated
It was a challenge and had a lot of elements that every match should.
Your hard work is appreciated as is everyone who arrives early and stays late to set all matches up, load the scores etc etc etc
Thanks!!
