I'm looking to stock up on some match grade .22LR ammo.  Which CMP .22LR ammo is considered match grade and what have been some experiences with it?

Thanks,
Jim

The Aguila Golden Eagle ammo was reported as grouping into 0.70".  That is not particularly good accuracy.

The ammo that seems to be a good compromise between cost and accuracy is the Wolf Match Extra (0.40" groups).  Champion's Choice has it at a decent price ($10/100 rounds).  So do several others.

Eley "black box" (Match EPS) is also pretty darned good (0.32" groups) and much less expensive ($18/100 rounds) than "red box" (Tenex EPS, $27.50/100 rounds, 0.30" groups).

I read an unconfirmed rumor that if Eley doesn't have enough "black box" ammo they just label what would have otherwise been "red box" quality with the black labels.

Eley Target Rifle is also decent ($9/100 rounds, 0.38" groups).

Maybe I'm just cheap, but I have a hard time paying the asking price for Eley Tenex.  I'm not that good and it's not worth it to me.

Nothing yet.  I have some Wolf Match Target and plan on eventually acquiring some Aguila for comparison.

So far, the best accuracy/cost value seems to be ELEY Standard (in the brown box).  It shoots into 0.32" groups and costs only $358/case (5,000 rounds) or $8.00/100 rounds.
