I don't know if it's because I'm not used to a two stage trigger or what, but I just installed a geissele high speed in a lower that is eventually going to become my high power rifle, and I think it's way too light. I compared it to my dad's lower with a single stage accuracy speaks trigger tuned to 4.5 lbs, and the geissele feels MUCH lighter. The take up is light, and the 2nd stage is almost imperceptible. I think it would work great, but it also just feels way too light. Is it normal for me to think it feels too light, or do I need to get my butt down to my local smith to get the pull weight measured?

I think you just aren't used to it. The beauty of two stage triggers is that it's 4.5 lbs that feels like 1lb. You need to dry fire it a lot and get used to it. I can almost guarantee you'll grow to love it.

When geissele triggers came out, everyone was saying they felt lighter then their actual set weight. That's one of the reasons they became so popular. Check the weight to make sure, but it's no surprise they feel lighter.

I'm just thinking that if this is a service rifle trigger, the lighter triggers are almost dangerously light. If this thing acutally is the service rifle version, then it is an amazing trigger. If not, then I need to get a heavier trigger spring. I can see why everyone loves these things.

yes top of the line trigger but make sure it is cmp legal before going to a match as you would be disapointed being at a leg and not approved to shoot the thing

Man that is the best goddamn avatar Ive ever seen.

Which Geisselle is it? Is it the combat trigger or the adjustable?

Adjustable.

Looking down on the trigger turn the middle screw clockwise into the hole and this will raise the weight but don't go any further than 2 full rotations from the flush position per the lengthy instructions.

Did you read the whole 6 page install sheet or breeze through it? It needs to be read and understood to install correctly to your lower. Sear engagement, first stage, second stage and over travel. Read it again.

Make sure you have the correct spring, adjusted and tested.   "5-Coil" is for Service Rifle

I see three coils on either side of the trigger, and four coils on each side of the hammer.

Make sure it is adjusted correctly, it should be real close. You will get used to it.

I have the service, DMR and SSA

There are no better triggers on the planet.

LOL, every time I've stepped up to get my trigger weighed, they always function test it several times and tell me it won't pass, it's set at 5 lbs.

I'm going shooting tomorrow with my dad, so I'll get it tested tomorrow if I remember. But damn, if this thing is 5 lbs, I can't imagine why anyone would want the match rifle trigger. This thing feels almost too light!

Did you go through the entire setup process?  If not, you ABSOLUTELY need to, step by step.

Sir, proper installation is essential to get the trigger just the way you want it.  Weighing it at intermediate stages of the installation is key to adjusting the trigger the way it was intended and trigger weighing devices are required to set the first stage to be within the desired range.  The second stage obviously has to be set to the min. 4.5# or more but you really need a trigger weight to set it up properly.  FWIW the first Geiselle trigger I bought from Creedmoor Sports when they first came out.  Having a good set of weights was an important part of the installation.  The last Geiselle trigger I bought from Bill at Camp Perry during the Nationals year before last.  Bill installed the trigger on the spot for me and he did use a weighing device to do it.  Final setting was done according to my preference as the rifle is a match rifle/space gun.  Get some weights and follow the directions!  JMHO, 7zero1.

Well, if it checks out at 4.5 lbs, I'll leave it as is. It feels great as is. If not, then I guess I need a gauge. Where would I find one?

Well, it's at 4 1/4. Damnit.

But the fact it feels so light and is still in the ballpark is absolutely amazing to me. What an awesome trigger.

Just looking at the picture the 2nd stage weight screw looks to be sitting above flush with the top of the disconnector.  It should be about 1/2 turn below flush to start off with.

If it is above flush the 2nd stage can't be controlled on a Service trigger.

Well shit, it appears the screw is stripped. It came that way. I got the trigger used. Either way, this trigger feels awesome but is a quarter pound too light. Should I just take out the trigger, bend the springs as explained in the directions, and be done with it? I can feel the second stage, it's just a very light pull right after the second stage.

Contact us through our website with the serial number of your trigger and your shipping address.  I'll have the assembly dept make up a new disconnector and we will send it out no charge.

With the screw sitting up like that the 2nd stage will be un-controlable.  Wait till we get you a new disconnector before shooting the rifle.

I take it you are Mr. Geissele? Do you know what sized hex key I need to remove the pistol grip? I don't currently have any hex keys on me at the moment (I assembled the lower at my parent's house.) And thanks for the customer service! Not many companies would offer to fix something bought used.

I got the trigger out now. I'll send an email to geissele as I was instructed.

ETA: I just got off the phone with Bill, and will be getting a new disconnector in the mail. Thanks again!
