Can anyone tell if this is threaded for 1/4 MOA? Owner is not sure. Looks like you can count 12 solid threads til you get to the roll pin slot.

Thanks

It's not so much the threads that adjust the MOA, more the detents on the bottom.  If you look at the bottom of the adjustment knob (not the edge), 1/2 MOA has about 5 holes for the detent (that are visible when it is installed).  1/4 MOA has more holes (and smaller).  Seems like you can see eight or nine on the 1/4 (when installed).  My gun is 1/2, so I am sure of the five, but I will have to rely on someone with 1/4 to count them and post to verify the number.

Dont know, was sent the pic by the owner. He described it as an Armalite NM but did not know the click value. The dimpled elevation wheel and the knurled hood makes me think it might be a RRA, whose elevation wheels could be flipped over to get 1/4 or 1/2 clicks, or so I've read.

The threads (with the correct knob, I think 24 detents) look like it could be 1/4".  You might want to check around, as I have read that the Armalites could be 1/3 moa.  I know that I measured the movement on my DPMS rear site and it was 1/3 moa - with a lot of dead clicks.  I stripped that upper and sent it to WOA in October for a new pinned rear site and barrel.

Here are pics of my 1/2 MOA RRA tactical carry handle rear sight.  I have seen some sights that have the dimples on the outside, not sure what brand they are.  Maybe it is specific to NM sights?  Either way, the number of holes on the bottom of the sight are an easy way to see if it is 1/2 or 1/4.  I will try to get a pic of my friends 1/4 MOA sight so that you can see the difference.

All of my NM uppers with 1/4 min sights have approximately 125 clicks from bottom to top.  They started life as Armalites, but were rebuilt by WOA to 1/4 x 1/4.  I'm guessing 1/2 min would have half as many clicks of total elevation.  Put it on an upper and see what you get.
