If you have a .edu email address you may also have access to many electronic journals through the school's library.

This is true. Also some hospitals or health systems provide access to people on staff. I could access stuff through my work-supplied subscriptions if I could remember my assigned username and passwords. It's been long enough that I didn't even realize MD Consult went TU a year ago.

It's nice working for an academic medical center.  I get access to just about any journal I could want.

My annual staff dues at a hospital chain that begins with IHC now include an UpToDate account. Finally stopped paying the $400-500/year for UTD.
