I'm sure many of you are familiar with the technique of using a sling loop on your bicep to steady aimed fire in certain positions, as you can do with the classic green cotton GI web sling and other shooting slings like the classic leather (example).
Are there any other slings besides GI/CMP-style that have the hardware/loops to be easily used in the same manner? Should be pretty straightforward, basically requiring a 2-point sling with a quick length adjuster towards the fore end, a quick-detach mount at the buttstock end (doable with a QD swivel), and the appropriate expandable loop near the rear hardware. It would be nice to have a sling with those features, plus some of the other neat stuff that a lot of the "tactical"/convertible slings offer. The main reason I ask is that my wife and I shoot at Appleseed events, which sometimes emphasize the classic sling usage described above, but also shoot carbine matches, and it would be nice to have "do-it-all" slings rather than constantly switching. Edited to add: Looks like this got moved to the competition forum. You guys can obviously skip over the "here's what I mean by sling shooting part" |
