Last year I received a WOA upper and sighted it in. Had no problems, cleaned it and basically put it in the safe for winter. Today I went to the range and at 100 yards I was hitting about 14" to the left. The only thing I remember doing was tighten the front sight post down. Which I believe is my problem. Question: do the side screws adjust the windage? I thought I tighten the bottom screw first then both screws evenly. I was so disgusted that I stop shooting. (I also didn't bring my allen wrench to loosen the screws if a wanted to) |

If you have a WOA, then you have only two screws on each side of the front sight base, with one set screw at the bottom. Make sure the bottom set screw is a little loose while you adjust the side set screws. Once you get the FSB adjusted properly and tightened down, use Loctite 290 on the heads of the screws (wicking grade Loctite). Then tighten the bottom set screw and put a drop of Loctite 290 on the head of that set screw. http://www.ocabj.net/gallery2/d/3630-4/IMG_5402.JPG Nice pic! I have WOA upper and have wondered how those set screws actually worked! Thanks. |
