Is there such a thing as a double tape switch, where you would have 2 pressure pads to activate one light? I'm thinking something along the lines of the pic below, but with a second tape switch at 1 o'clock so that it can be operated from either side. A single pressure pad that bridged the top rail under the light would work as well.

I definitely plan to pick one of these up.
But he means 2 separate switches on opposite sides, that activate the same light (from either side)
As opposed to a light, and a LAM, which all current offerings that ive seen are for.

Milspec, yep, two switches that activate one light. This is for a AR pistol (maybe eventually SBR) with a 7.5 inch barrel, 1.5 inch linear comp, and 9 inch handguard. My hand would be right at the end of the handguard. I'd like to mount a light in the 11- 1 o'clock range that could be activated from either side. On other guns, I've had room to mount the light out ahead of my hand position, and use the rear switch, but here if I do that, the light sticks out beyond the muzzle, defeating the point of a short barrel. A 12  O'clock mounted light with a button at 11 and 1 for my thumb would work perfect, but I'm open to other ideas as well.

Surefire makes a picatinny-mount switch that a lot of folks mount on the top rail, allows for either hand to activate the light, and will only require you to have one switch.

Where would the light go that wouldn't block access to the pressure pad from one side or the other?

move the switch further back on the top rail? do you have the light in the picture? if not, put the light on the side of the rifle.

The Rosch light/light in the picture is so far looking to be my best bet. I've also considered an x300 and the tango down front sight flashlight adapter.
It seems like if I moved the pressure pad back enough to have it behind the light, I might as well just use the tail switch on the light. I'd really like to keep my hand right out at the end of the rail.

If I mounted the light on the side, wouldn't that make it almost impossible to grab the rail from that side?

I've never really used tape switches up till now. Would any of them be flexible enough to go over the top rail perpendicular and wrap down each side of the hand guard?

I'm also considering ordering a couple tape switches and hacking them up to splice together a double.

If you're going to run one of those lights right at the end of the rail and use a modified front sight, skip the remote switch, it's just one more unnecessary complication. Either of those lights can be activated easily with either support hand.

if mounting the light on the side, yes it may impede if you have to switch to weak side shooting, but hopefully you wouldn't be forced to shoot weak hand long enough for the inconvenience to matter.
