Troy Industries is now shipping their new 7" (carbine) tactical handguard. It is a 2pc unit that does NOT require a gunsmith installation.
 It installs much like regular plastic handguards, and then has 4 socket head cap screws to secure the top and bottom sections.  The quick and easy install handgaurds are getting super poplular for folks who do not require a free float, and this Troy Industries Drop In handguard is an outstanding option. A flat dark earth option is also in production. Features: Numbered cross slots M203 Capable Accepts 360° push button swivels (sold separately) Positive clamping provides true optical mounting platform Installs in less then two minutes Does not alter weapon Weight 8.5oz Made in USA. I am not at the shop, but it looked like the same/similar diameter as the Troy MRF original handguards. So its more like the RAS. It was not fat feeling. Also, yes keep the delta ring. Picture from Troy Ind website

It would be interesting to put a set of these next to a similar set from another company and compare them for tightness on the gun. And to see how well the two pieces go together.

I have a wobble in my handguard cap. All I will have on my rail will be a KAC VFG, but I want it to be solid. Will there still be a wobble with the rail, or should I go FF to avoid it?

Can you take a picture of the top piece on the inside where it would go around the barrel nut. I want to see if these are like the former Samson DIs. The Samsons had 2 steel pins that would lock the top piece into the notches of the barrel nut providing a solid, wobble free, lock up. Thanks |

No, but I have machine them to fit the ARES and with ease of removal aare a great choice in a non-floating rail for the ARES. $35 to machine them plus return shipping. |

I just bought a set of these and mounted them on my AR. They are simply incredible. It took all of 1 minute to but them on and they are solid. Though I haven't tried it yet, they seem tight enough they might support an optic without a problem. I'm very impressed with this product and will gladly buy more mods from Troy Industries. I mounted a Command Arms Flashlight Grip Adapter on the bottom rail and I have experienced no movement.
Sorry for the lack of a picture, but buying accessories has kept me from getting a digital camera. All I have now are really bad quality pics from my phone. I would have no problems recommending these to anyone. For the quality you get, the price is definitely right. |

These rails look almost EXACTLY like the Midwest Industries drop in rails I bought about 2 months ago. I wonder if their is a huge quality difference, enough to make me switch over. So far I haven't noticed any slop in mine either, they have been pretty rock solid. Any opinions?

I got a set this weekend at the fun show. I had to tweek them just a hair to fit on my Colt 6721. They are rock solid. They were the best bang for the buck that I found at the show. The other two that I was considering were the MI and the DD.
