Alright, I'm an idiot (like you didn't already know...), what's mounted on the rail in front of the EOTech? A laser device?
Awesome setup, SMGLee! |
where does he get those wonderful toys.... |

Slide that shit off the bottom and get a pic with the LMT M203 on there, will you?

Damn you all!!!
Those are some mighty fine looking carbines! Mmm, mmm, MRP good... |
Ditto. I really need to stop visiting this site... |
I will have to make that happen for ya. |
MSTN, SMGLee, and some I can't remember. |
DAMN all of you MRP owners--ESPECIALLY pcurtis!! Edited to add: I think the MRP is the BEST thing to happen to the AR/M16 family. How much more modularity can you possibly have than this? As long as the zero isn't affected too much by the quick change barrel system or some other weakness is found (like the bolts), I think has to be the shiznit of all AR configurations, no? |
I'd like to be able to shoot 12GA through an AR upper. Well, you asked. -z |
I want an MRP with a short 10mm barrel. |
That reminds me. I want a 9x19, 10mm, 45, or 40SW* upper that shoots from a locked bolt. -z * 40 loaded long, use my IPSC ammo |
Do you think pistol calibers would have enough gas pressure to operate a gas system?
I don't know. I'm guessing not without modification of the gas port location & size and/or the BCG operating system (think: Ceiner). -z |
????, thought mine was kind of the ugly duckling compare to some of the others. |
I could go for a 10mm or 40S&W also. |
Rumor has it that Colt submitted an MRP-type setup to SCAR that uses standard barrels. That, IMHO, is the shiznit. |
You MRP bastards are going to force me to dip into the childrens college funds, aren't you?
Another thing to add to the list of 20058928352593889 gun related items to buy.
pcurtis, that has to be the best looking MRP that I've seen yet. A MRP "Recon" just went on my wish list!
Can I get the specs on this thing pcurtis? Looks GREAT! |
ASNixon, MRP CQB with carbine length rail, 1:7 16" SS mid-length gas system, A2 FS Colt BCG BM Lower/KAC 2-Stage FCG LMT/Crane Stock Leupy MR/T M1 Ill. / LaRue SPR Mount Troy Front Sight & GG&G MADD BUIS ETA: Source for all except the BM Lower, Leupy, Colt BCG, & GG&G was Wes @ MSTN. |
Curtis, that's sweet.
Where'd you score your BCG at? I have a bad cold, and am half out of my mind on Nyquil, so correct me if I'm wrong: aren't the SS barrels actually made by Mike Rock? |
JLM, The Colt BCG came from my "spares" kit that I have built up over the years for just such occasions & any breakage. The only non-Colt BCG I use is an LMT Chrome BC in my MSTN 6.8SPC carbine. As to the SS barrel, thats what the rumor is... And they are shooters. |
I wouldn't hold my breath. I think that whole thing has been over blown. Colt submitted a MRP style monolithic upper with detachable lower panel and modified barrel nut using the standard barrel. it is no where near quick release like the MRP. It is like saying the XM8 has a QD barrel but you still need armor assistance to remove the barrel nut with a special torque wrench. and why have a detachable lower panel?? so you can install the M203?? that just defeats the purpose of a free float barrel. MRP is the way to go, modular and solid. a true QD barrl system with speciificaaly desing rail mounted M203. Besides, Colt is lock in law suite, i wonder if it will ever make it pass the SCARS. |
Because he loves to torture us... |
Damn, Wes. Now I really have to seriously consider a MRP twin (probably rifle length), on top of the upper you are currently building. Glad, the Chief likes to shoot also. Wonder which MRP she's going to claim? ETA: Either way, I win. She lets me shoot hers. |
WES,
What type of shooting bag are using to support the front of the rifle? Thanks. |
While you're in there, grab a little something to send my way! |
Colt submitted 3 entries for SCAR, two of which were one-piece uppers of different configurations. Wait and see, some interesting products will be hitting the market shortly. HFG |

The HK P7 series and the Steyr GB series come to mind
