I dare anyone to find a new BAC ACOG available for under $1000.00.  If you have ever considered buying one, this may be the best opportunity you will ever see.  I am considering one to build a rifle around just because the price is so good.

it's times like this when i wish i had money.

...i guess i could always sell my gun for and ACOG, but that kind of defeats the purpose.

Good! I'm ready to place my order, but I still have a question. New-arguy, could someone confirm the scope is for a 14.5" barrel and not a 20" barrel like the original TA31 or TA31A. Not trying to cause problems but it seems odd that we would be getting a one of a kind scope using a different reticle then the one that comes off the assembly line. I"m asking because I want one for my 20" AR and not my 14.5" barrel AR. Either way I'm still ordering one!

The price $875 is good for a TA31 or TA31A and great for a TA31F!

Thanks,
Leadfoot

Thanks for the quick reply! I've always stayed away from the TA31F because I wanted a "bigger" reticle. Now it seems like I have that option! I bet when this variation of the TA31 hits the open market it will sell better than the standard TA31F because it's easier to detect and target.

Again thanks for the quick reply and I will keep an eye posted on this thread.

Any guess on how this thing will work on a 16" flat top?

I have a 16" too, and I'm going by the "Big BDC..." chart tacked in the forum.

My feeling is that, at this price, if I ever change my mind and/or find it doesn't work for me, I'd easily be able to sell it and get the $875 (or more) that I paid for the optic/mount package.  Or it's gonna force me to buy the 14.5" M4 upper that I would have eventually bought sooner or later.  Either way, I see no loss!

I'm curious as to this myself.  What is the difference if mounted on a 16" or 20" ar?

I too wasn't planning on a 14.5 barrel any time soon. I'll get the ACOG anyway, as I will end up with an M4 sooner or later. If I had my druthers though, it would be for a 16" or 20" barrel.

When served an ACOG calibratedfor an M4, build an M4.

People listen: the difference between 14.5 and 16 is minimal.

Now what I want to know is for which ammo it is calibrated.

It's calibrated for the M855 - 62gr. bullet.

Are you sure about that?  Is that from Newarguy? Last I knew he was going to check w/ trijicon and get back to us.

Just reinstating what Neil (New-arguy) said. I'm assuming it still standing since he hasn't come back with more information stating that it's not. Also assuming it's following the other (TA31F, TA01NSN) scopes made prior for the M4.

But yeah, you're right it hasn't been confirmed.

It makes sense that they would use the BDC already worked up for the previous scopes.  The only reason I ask is because way back when we first started the idea of a group buy I suggested to Neil that he commision a 16"/m193/flat top calibrated TA31.  At the time he seemed interested I just wondered if he had brought that up with trijicon and if that might be the new model.  But since he stated he had nothing to do with reticle selection I boubt it
