Thank you It has changed slightly since that picture was taken... The RMR was moved up to the US Palm top cover, I added a VTAC sling mount and offset light mount, two QD swivels, a BFG VCAS sling, a G2X Pro light, and rearranged a couple other things. Sorry for the shitty cell phone picture. I'm trying to keep some uniformity between platforms for sake of consistency and muscle memory. |

I have a spare ML2 sitting around here and since I have no more "sightless" ARs, this seems to be a good solution to my problem. First, is this an ML2? Next, what mount is this adn where can you get one. Sorry...I just read the title...so it is a PRO.... Still have to comment that it is a nice setup and ask where to get the mount...is "RS" Red Star????? |

Here is an independent study from RifleShooter.com that compares the Dog Leg to the AKARS. |

Sorry for the spelling errors and typos on the webpage. I didn't spell check it and even if I did, I wouldn't of caught it. We are not scholastic type, but we'd like to think that we are somewhat of the savvy infantry type that had brought to market a tool that we used to assist us in the field. In regards to the review/compare and contrast of the AKARS to the Dog Leg... it can be found at rifleshooter.com here is the link: http://rifleshooter.com/2012/07/parabellum-armament-ak-adaptive-rail-system-akars-review/
Regardless of your choice of mount system... At least you chose the AK platform, so thank you! |

Here's my 1p78 Kashtan–– I've mentioned it elsewhere but figure i'll reiterate. I am aware the 1p78 is 5.45 calibrated but it seems to work just fine at the ranges in which I use it. Figure out the holdover for the 7.62x39 and you're golden. Plus she's my excuse to get into the 74 market eventually ;-)

WTFShane,
Is that the MI rail you have with the Ultimak? That is the type of setup I am looking for (longer lower handguard/rail with the Ultimak top). Just wondering what railed lowers work with the ultimak top. Oz |

I have always liked Bulgarian AK's, this one is a SA M7 Carbine and it has been 100% reliable and very accurate with Golden Tiger ammo. |

You got me! (Shows how long I've been away from the AK 'world')
Wow have they gone up! And that appears to be a commercial model without ballistic cam turrets. At least they are available again!!! |

At least they are available again!!! They are expensive these days. I have two PKS-07s that I picked up quite a while back, one with the elliptical-dot reticle (like yours) and one with the chevron. Definitely prefer the elliptical-dot reticle. |

I like it so far, it is actually one of the SGM Saiga 20 gauge forearms, they work okay for a Vepr with some trimming, got it right before SGM came out with a dedicated Vepr model. It's very sturdy, but I wonder if it could benefit from some heat shielding, may have to use a little header tape. Don't think it will fit standard AKM's. It only works with the Ultimak with trimming, and I also had to trim this one for depth in the front on the inside where the screw goes, so I could snug it up tight to the barrel and eliminate the small gap at the back where it goes into the trunnion. The factory handguards benefit from trimming for depth too, check out any factory Vepr from the side closely and you'll see the handguard is not quite parallel to the barrel, and the rear of the handguard at the top doesn't quite meet the trunnion. Turned out okay, hacking is half the fun, and plastic is pretty easy to work and make look good if you go slow. The handguard is not super-wide, it's actually a tolerable width and snugs up nicely to the Ultimak, keeps a fairly slim profile. Color is good too, goes real well with the Vepr finish. |
