With the grip thingy we can use our legally owned thirty round mags. With a bullet button you can only use 10s.
The AK bullet button is pretty awkward to manipulate compared to an AR, so I feel that it's worth it. It's weird at first, but after a few minutes you hardly notice. I use a BB on my ARs though. I have some thirtys, but all others I buy as rebuilds and convert to 10s. |

I used to be in your camp when it comes to the use of Tapco products but I learned that the magazines are just fine for fun at the range. I have three Tapco AK magazines and have never had any issues with then except for the black 30 rounder. It was real stiff and would take only 27 rounds. I left it loaded for a week and it has been loading and feeding 30 rounds perfectly ever since. The orange one will go out for a test when we get a little break from the weather. Their G2 triggers and AK sight adjustment tools are very high quality as well. |
