I should have been more specific. I'd like to do a stockset like that for myself and would like to know what type of wood it is (ironwood, russian, romy, something else?) and what stain you used. It looks great and is currently serving as my desktop background. |

I really like the cheek weld on the wire stock. Much more comfortable for me tahn the wood stock. I picked it up from a member that had one. I had found one prior for $22 but do not have that link. Here's Cope's link: http://www.copesdistributing.net/product_info.php?products_id=523 Ferret, I was VERY surprised how quickly the gaurd cooled down. I had my brother touch it after dumping a 40rd mag through it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2bia-rSZes |

I just got this and its my first...you guys have such great stuff, I don't know where to start with this. My intention is for this thing to be strictly utility if you know what I mean seeing as its my only one (for now). Anybody has suggestions for this romy WASR-10 for use as "a hammer", please let me know.http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q17/surveyor3/1229081834.jpg

Then shoot the gun so you learn how to run it. Only then identify areas which you think could be improved and accessorize appropriately. E.g., a more comfortable stock or a flash suppressor. Software is more important than hardware. |

Don't mess with any American soldier or Allah will grant you a bullet between the eyes.
And as our enemies know, don't mess with a tank crew (IED/VBIED) or you will not have a house, or small village left. Mess with a Battalion = total devastation. |

Got the stock from Here (it's a prototype stock) and added an ITC cheekrest. Attached the Bobro bipod by drilling and tapping the receiver in front of the mag well and putting on a small piece of rail (5 slot). Then just put the bipod on as usual. Free floats the barrel as much as possible. Added the Blackjack buffer, TIS sling, and Red Star Arms adjustable trigger group and have it set at about 3.5#'s. Very happy with how it came out.

How did you do it? - Clint THANKS! i just followed the general directions from Loki and Tarheel_John in THIS THREAD for the furniture. only things i changed from their directions were that i used red oak, not red mahogany stain. for the RIT dye i used, 2 bottles scarlett red, 1 bottle wine color, and 2 parts water. and i used satin clear poly spray at the end, not gloss. plus -i polished my charging handle down to the bare metal and buffed it using a dremel -got a romanian bakelite pistol grip off GB, luckily the color worked out good -lightly took a sanding block and some steel wool to the metal parts to make it look more worn in its actually pretty easy, this is my first AK project ever and im really stoked on how it came out. plus it was fun working on it! cheers. |
